Costata Romanesco is an exceptional open-pollinated zucchini. This Italian heirloom (originating near Rome with costata meaning ribbed in Italian) has a beautiful shape featuring dark green and lighter green markings and a distinctive light green ridge. While you might assume all summer squash tastes the same, this variety will surprise you with its sweet, earthy flavor–definitely one of the best-tasting zucchinis out there! It’s prolific for an open-pollinated zucchini, producing a generous harvest throughout the season.
