Support Your Wildlife
Biodiversity loss is one of the great challenges of our time and we believe that agriculture, while being one of its main causes, can also play an important role in being one of its solutions.
By respecting and supporting the native insects, amphibians and other species of our ecosystem and providing them with the habitat and food supplies they need, we can help foster their return to healthy population levels and give our ecosystem a chance to rekindle the diversity, resilience and beauty it had prior to the heavy hand of modern humans.

What we do here
Here at the Summertime Seed Farm we strive to enhance our biodiversity through using organic practices and planting native hedgerows and flowering insectary strips both around and through the farm. It’s such a joy to see the life these practices attract and we also benefit from their ecosystem services.

What you can do
We encourage you to dedicate a portion of your garden or farm to supporting the native fauna of your region and planting it with species that will provide both food and habitat for them. It may turn out to be your most rewarding garden! :)
Here are some great resources to support you in supporting them!
