Mexican Hat is a plant more people should get to know! Native to North America, it thrives in heat and drought. The dark red and gold petals drape gracefully like a skirt around a prominent cone. It delivers vibrant color from summer through fall and looks great with many species like marigold, gaillardia, and coreopsis. I find its foliage quite pretty as well. A great low-maintenance choice in a sunny garden or prairie planting. Even works in a bouquet!
