This grass, a.k.a., Foxtail Millet, has a rustic quality and a graceful, arching habit. It’s strong, vigorous, and carefree. As the seedheads mature, they shift from a warm brown to subtle wine hues, creating some depth of color. I love pairing it with late-summer blooms like Rudbeckias, Asters, and Helenium. Foxtail Millet works as a cut flower, lasting for weeks in a vase, and as a dried flower. Birds adore the seeds. Grows awesome in a container. Historically, it has been grown as a food source in China since the Paleolithic era (about 7,000 years ago), and remains vital today.
