A perennial onion! This ‘bunching’ heirloom makes clumps of onions more resembling large pink scallions and may, in mild climates, be harvested continuously and reproduce indefinitely once established. Likes some water to keep producing throughout the summer. Tender with lots of sweet, earthy flavor, use as you would any other allium. Mound with soil to increase the white tender part like you would with leeks. A great plant that more gardeners should know about! A historic variety from China and Siberia. Left to flower, the flowers attract loads of pollinators.
