The name, The Chatelaine, holds a few meanings, but my favorite is “the mistress of the castle” –a nod to its regal presence. These plants produce profuse, long-lasting blooms in dark pink with hot pink accents, adding vivacious color to spring bouquets or a garden bed. The lush foliage, with its distinctive leaf pattern, is beautiful in its own right. Lupines can reward you twice in a season if you’re lucky. Cutting back the spent blooms encourages a second flush later on. Expect some color variation to the pink in this seed lot.
Please note: Parts of this plant are poisonous.
