It is so satisfying to grow and eat your own garden lettuce! There is a nice mix of varieties in this collection with buttery butterheads, crisp romaines, and an incredible red loose-leaf lettuce called 'Outredgeous,' bred by our farmer-friend Frank at Wild Garden Seeds. He also selected the beautifully speckled loose-leaf romaine called 'Flashy Trout Back' from the original and popular heirloom, 'Forellenschluss.' Loose-leaf types are perfect for harvesting the outer leaves, allowing a continuous harvest. In the kitchen I often chose butterheads and romaines simply because I love them the best. Enjoy!
