What a great plant! Tiny sparkling red beads on long, leafless stems make this a great filler for flower farmers and florists. An easy plant to harvest and quite unique as well. I appreciate the rosette of leaves, with a tropical look, which remain a rich shade of dark green even when other plants look worn out by the end of a hot summer. Makes sense as it's native to the Caribbean. Refreshing! I understood their value as a bouquet filler but what I didn’t understand was how striking this is as a garden plant. Can be a perennial in warmer climates.
