This is another one of my favorite plants! Its lush, deep green foliage and vibrant purple flowers bring a Mediterranean feel to the garden. A true perennial, it keeps its lovely green leaves in winter in warmer climates. This plant is tough as nails—heat, drought, you name it—it thrives. I’ve never seen it wilt, not even during the harshest heat waves. With a woody base and sturdy growth habit, it anchors a garden bed like a boxwood but with the added bonus of blooms! It looks perfect in the front of a border. If you shear it after blooming, it rewards you with repeat flowers throughout the season. Bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects adore it! This plant also works as a cut flower in a country bouquet. Not to be confused with anise hyssop!
