This cute flower takes its name from the 17th-century theatrical character Pierrot, traditionally dressed in pure white with a black cap—much like the flower’s striking color contrast. The blooms feature super-cute, papery petals similar to strawflowers but more diminutive. Useful in standard bouquets, but I like to put several in a bud vase. With pure white flowers atop grayish-green stems, Pierrot is as beautiful fresh as it is dried. Native to Australia, this resilient plant adds a whimsical yet sophisticated touch to any garden or arrangement.
