Known by its common names Godetia, Clarkia, or Farewell to Spring, this species is native to western North America, ranging from British Columbia to San Francisco. This bred cultivar’s remarkable color pattern features satin-like, vase-shaped flowers in white with delicate shell-pink markings. Despite its refined appearance, the plant itself is surprisingly rugged, thriving in challenging conditions. Godetia is a favorite in bee and butterfly gardens and the latin name of this species is ‘amoena’ meaning beautiful! Godetia does better with support when grown as a cut flower.
