Pretty in pink petals with red sepals and anthers, this cultivated clarkia also has beautiful structure with striking purplish-red strong, woody stems. Very few leaves make it a good choice for cutting. For years I wasn’t too interested in growing this variety as it never seemed that pretty in photos but I’ve totally changed my mind. Grow this out and see how beautiful it really is! This annual Clarkia is native to the western states. The name clarkia refers to William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Drought tolerant once established and good in a pollinator garden.
