This Batavia, or summer crisp lettuce, is one of my absolute favorites for its strength, reliability, and exceptional flavor. Perfect for hot weather, it resists tip-burn and produces thick, sweet leaves that remain tender and delicious even under stress. It can grow to a large size when mature and it’s also visually stunning—so much so that I’ve included it as an ornamental in my flower beds!
